Resources for Guidance and College Counselors

UNA understands the important role guidance and college counselors play in helping college-bound students find success. We’ve created this page to make it easy for you to get the resources and information you need to help your students navigate the college search process and learn about UNA. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, please contact your admissions counselor or the Office of Admissions at 256-765-4608 or admissions@51rkb.com.

Applying as a first-time freshman

Applicants to the University of North Alabama are not required to submit a standardized test score to be considered for admission to the University. We do encourage students to have their ACT/SAT scores sent to the Office of Admissions to be considered for additional scholarships.

To apply for admission, the student must first create a MyUNA Account and complete the undergraduate application. The student must also have a copy of their official high school transcript sent to the Office of Admissions.

Official transcripts can be sent via electronic services (i.e. Parchment or Escrip), emailed to ugalert@51rkb.com or mailed to the following address:

UNA offers a variety of stackable scholarship opportunities for incoming freshmen. Excellence Scholarships (Opportunity, Vanguard, and Academic) are awarded automatically based on the student’s high school GPA and/or ACT. Students must have applied for admission and submitted their official high school transcript and/or ACT by the March 1, 2025 priority deadline to be considered for an Excellence Scholarship.

To be considered for a Leadership Scholarship, students must submit a 1-2 page activity resume via Academic Works. Resumes will be accepted from November 1, 2024 through March 1, 2025. To view a complete list of scholarships at UNA, please visit our Excellence Scholarship page.
